Registered Dental Assistant - Mayflower Dental Group

Mayflower Dental has been serving the Sydney and surrounding areas for years. Our office is in an accessible location and we are a dedicated patient-based clinic. We pride ourselves on providing optimal patient care to our patients and their families in a friendly and caring environment.
We have a talented team of Dental Hygienists that work closely with our dentists to provide you with excellent care, provide oral cancer and periodontal screening to assist you with understanding your oral health. 

Being part of the Mayflower Dental Group, with 7 locations in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality – we are able to provide a solid internal patient referral program, dental hygiene program, excellent support system for expanding your skill set and the opportunity to learn among a very talented group of Dental Professionals. We use the most up to date equipment and technologies within our group of clinics. Schedule:  

Full time hours - 35-40 per week

Monday - Thursday or Tuesday to Friday

No Weekends

Flexible start time

Your Role: 

  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment 

  • Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow 

  • Take dental X-rays and digital images as required 

  • Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards 

  • Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care 

  • Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks 

  • Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care 

  • Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines 

  • Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour 

 

About You: 

  • Registered as a Dental Assistant with the Nova Scotia regulatory body or association  is required 

  • NDAEB Certified Level II Dental Assitant License is required

  • Previous dental assisting experience is preferred
